Updates on Feronia

Life has been a series of twists and turns for many people lately, Feronia included. The great thing about curveballs is that they force you to re-evaluate your position. When circumstances change, we have the opportunity to think about our direction and make sure it is where we really want to head. Our perceptions can shift and things are seen in a different light. Our work right now is in holding tight to what we truly believe in, allowing the less important pieces to fall out of the picture. Some changes that have happened with Feronia over the last month....

Feronia Wellness Organization is in the process of declaring it's non-profit status. Feronia initially began as a non-profit, but was redesigned as a for-profit to attract investors & solidify financing. The construction loan fell through and investors have not been knocking down the doors, so we have started our own grass-roots fundraising efforts. Since we are now raising the money ourselves, we have returned to a non-profit status and have begun to form the board of directors. We are welcoming Cecilia Deal & Phyllis Heitkamp to our board this month. Welcome Ladies! We deeply appreciate your efforts.

One branch of our fundraising events, the Body & Soul Wellness Fairs have suffered this summer. They not been well-attended by guests or vendors the past few months, so we have made some changes to our format. We will be hosting fairs in various locations in SE Wisconsin. Hopefully by changing our location, we can find develop some new interest. Please keep an eye on our webpage www.wellnessfair.org to track our changes.

We have also started 3 new branches of fundraising. We will be hosting art shows 3-4 times/year, offering psychic/spirit faires at area businesses & doing some tele-fundraising. Our first art show is scheduled in December and is for Visionary artists. Please watch our website for details on the different events that we are organizing. And, if you are contacted by one of our volunteer fundraisers, please be kind. They are working for a good cause!

Many warm wishes of wellness,
Deborah Lighthart
