Healthy Foods at Costco
by Bernard Rosen

I'm excited to let you know about all the healthy items I've found in our local Costco.  Several of my clients mentioned that they had found this or that so I decided to check it out for myself.

Here's what I found:  organic peanut butter, organic olive oil, organic raspberries, frozen wild blueberries, frozen wild Alaskan salmon (less than $8 per pound), frozen Ahi tuna steaks, cheese from unpasteurized milk, organic cereal (even though I'm not a big fan of cereal), organic baby greens, organic carrots, frozen organic broccoli, frozen organic green beans, organic eggs, Lara bars, organic bottled lemon juice, and organic milk.

They don't have all of these things all of the time, but generally have most of them.  However, if you go there, you must beware of the temptation to sample and buy much of the less healthy food items that they carry as well.  And, you still must read the labels.  For example, there were some frozen wild Alaskan salmon products that were in a marinate that had soy oil and various forms of added sugar.  My advice - buy plain and make your own healthy dressings and sauces.
