In honor of Mother's Day, we are celebrating all women who are mothers and all women who are not mothers, so basically all women. :) Being female can be a blessing and a curse, as all of us know, but overall it is a fantastic journey of femininity & balance. As women, we are born with an innate intuition, a sense of heightened emotion and a primal need to create. Women throughout history have been creative souls. I am sure that somewhere in time there was a cave-wife grunting to her husband to "put that big rock over there, so we can look out our cave window and see the stars after dinner," as she prepared the day's hunt for the fire. And I am sure there was some cave husband mumbling caveman complaints under his breath while pushed the huge stone across the floor, smiling sweetly sweetly at his caevwife as he replied, "Yes, dear, wherever you think is best."

It is a dance as old as time itself, this dance of being a woman. Allowing yourself to cry when you need to cry, to care for the sick & wounded, to nurture with love & compassion, they are all such very female traits. Yet, many believe this is a man's world and women are still second on the chain of command. The only women who are second are the ones who have not yet embraced their true power, which sadly is far too many. Our mission as women is to find our power, to embrace it. We need to feel the glory that lies in expressing our truth. That sometimes entails being what we think is un-feminine. It sometimes means having to say no, so we can give a resounding yes to something else in our lives. It may mean giving a little less to activities that drain us, and more energy to things that strengthen us. Whatever it means to you, be true to you. Be true to the heart that beats within your chest, allow it to be your guide and nothing else. It is the only song you need to hear to dance the dance your were born to dance, the dance of a woman.
